Tumblr vs. Posterous vs. Blogger vs. TOO MUCH???

So, as I’m finally doing this blog thing, I’ve been trying to figure out what’s best for me. For customization Blogger, WordPress or tumblr. since it has a nice look. tumblr. or posterous for ease… and on and on.

I guess it depends on my needs. I’m a graphic designer, makeup artist, sometimes wardrobe stylist (something I want to learn more of) soon to be hairstylist and lover of all those things I listed in my description. What I am not is a developer or programmer. I can manage uploading my own designs when I’m motivated but any other tricks I don’t have the desire to learn how to do. I don’t need an option for ecommerce. I’ll most likely be posting images and text. A video now and then, perhaps some music.

I decided to try out tumblr. for the following reasons: The photoset option. It’s prettier than the others (hey, I’m a visual person). Everyone and their mother uses Blogger, WordPress and such which I think is good and bad. (I may use Blogger as well since I have a GMail account. I dunno yet.) And did I mention it’s prettier? Also, though I don’t really use it, I like and appreciate Vimeo.

In this world of technology what’s a girl to do? Can you have too much? I use twitter, facebook, instant messenger (several-gotta love Adium) and recently signed up for MySpace again (work purposes as I actually don’t prefer it). I use ping.fm. I occasionally write a review on Yelp. I am signed up for a few different fashion and design related sites that are members only. I have an underused StumbleUpon account.

My bookmarks bar is overflowing with great links that I don’t visit enough but I don’t want to give up. I have an iPhone which is probably my favorite activity. (Is this sad?) Again, same thing. Apps I don’t use enough, although I’m pretty good at keeping those to a reasonable amount.

I have a pretty big iTunes library of music and podcasts I don’t listen to enough. (I don’t watch much tv so I’m always listening to NPR in the car for my news and for traffic reports.  I have traffic.com bookmarked on my iPhone. Will someone make an app for it please?)

In my attempt to keep things simple I don’t use flickr, even though it’s very nice looking and has great options. I uploaded all the images I could to Picasa. Since I’m being cheap and don’t want to pay for extra storage I don’t have the past four years or so in there. Those images are still all in iPhoto. Which brings me to a side question-is dotmac worth the yearly cost? So far I’ve decided no, but I’m open to discussion.

And it goes on and on.

What’s your opinion? Do I need ALL of these electronic leashes? Are we happily overloaded with options? What should I do?
